Last week I had the real pleasure of hosting a Webinar, on behalf of Employees Matter, to Allianz. It was facilitated by the wonderful Zoe Sinclair.
When I was first approached to be the Guest Speaker for this Webinar – I was immediately hooked by the title – “I’m not the type to have Mental Illness” – as it really resonated with me.
For a long time – I had ‘absorbed’ my challenges of OCD (Obsessive Compulsive Disorder), GAD (Generalised Anxiety Disorder) & Anxiety – and had a Mask for every aspect of my life – which hid those things very convincingly. I was a very highly functioning Anxious person and often thought “I’m not the type to have Mental Illness” and passed it off as being sensitive, a worrier, insecure, guilty or having low self esteem.
So this opportunity – to speak to thousands of people within this Webinar – was one I relished – although I must admit to being Anxious at the start as I had never actually done a Webinar
However, Zoe (featured) – was fantastic it putting me at ease and actually commented afterwards that I was a ‘natural’ and that it was excellent. I actually felt a lot more confident very quickly and found my flow – as I do on stage.
I shared my story – but most importantly my experience, learnings, tips & ‘Brain Hacks’ which the audience could implement immediately to help them feel happier, more in control & confident in Life & Business.
I received some great questions and I was delighted to be able to offer my insight to help those people with their own challenges.
Raising awareness about these issues is absolutely vital – both for business and for individuals – and I commend Allianz for engaging both Zoe & myself on this matter.
This was the second time I have worked with Employees Matter and I am delighted to have a third Booking in already for later in the year with Deloitte.
